Pizza Hut Revives Camp BOOK IT! for Summer 2026

Pizza Hut has reopened Camp BOOK IT! for Summer 2026, giving families with children in Pre-K through 6th grade a way to turn reading time into a free Personal Pan Pizza reward during June, July and August. According to Pizza Hut’s BOOK IT! program details, the summer version is now available through the BOOK IT! mobile app and is designed to help children meet parent-set reading goals while earning certificates redeemable at participating locations.

How the summer program works

Families set reading goals in the iOS or Android app, then track progress through the month. The program says children who complete 15 days of reading in a calendar month, with a target of about 20 minutes per day, can earn a prize code by email.

The reward is a free Pizza Hut single-topping Personal Pan Pizza, and the code can be used online, making it easier to add to an order for pickup. The offer is limited to five Personal Pan Pizza certificates per family each month, with one certificate available per eligible child who meets the goal.

A familiar program with a new delivery method

BOOK IT! has long been tied to childhood reading incentives, and many parents remember the school-based version from the 1980s and 1990s. In the summer, however, the program opens more broadly, allowing any age-eligible child to participate instead of limiting access to classrooms or homeschool settings.

That app-based shift reflects how brands are adapting legacy programs for digital use. Pizza Hut is using the mobile format to keep enrollment simple, track progress in real time and move redemption online, which cuts down on paper certificates and in-person handling.

Why the timing matters for families

Summer reading programs are often used to help prevent learning loss during the school break. The National Summer Learning Association has noted that students can lose academic ground when reading routines stop for several months, a challenge educators commonly call the summer slide.

For families, the Pizza Hut offer can work alongside library challenges and other retailer programs. Parents often combine multiple incentives to keep children reading consistently, and the BOOK IT! reward adds a food-based payoff that some kids can easily understand and look forward to.

What to watch next is whether Pizza Hut expands summer enrollment, changes app features or adds more reward options as the season progresses. For now, the program gives parents another tool to build a reading habit, and it gives Pizza Hut a familiar way to stay connected to families during the school break.
